So I filed my claim with UPS a couple of weeks ago. Still haven't heard from them. The server has been out of commission for far too long now, so I gave up waiting for them and purchased the replacement parts out of my own pocket. UPS can reimburse me the repair costs.

Actually, it might be a bit better that way, since I estimated a bit low on the repair costs in my initial assessment anyhow. I was short by about $400. And after all, US$800 is still very little compared to the full US$4000 I should be asking. $4000 is the declared value of the machine.

We'll see what happens there as we go along. In the meantime, it's Thanksgiving here in the US, which means not only that I can't call anyone about this, but also that I get an excuse to eat WAAAAAAY too much food. Possibly twice. Holidays are fun that way.

There's also the matter of my affiliation with the Navy Reserves. I need to redo the paperwork yet again, and it needs to be done by the 29th. That means tomorrow may involve a trip to northern Utah. Otherwise, tomorrow will involve a few faxes back and forth. We shall see.
